Nature photography has been my hobby for over 20 years. I started with a manual Pentax K1000 SLR camera with a 500mm f8.0 lense. I learned early on that you need a long lense to capture images of animals, because you generally cannot get as close as you would like without them getting spooked. Of course in those early days film was the only means of recording your images. In 2004 I went 100% digital. I was a little skeptical at first, but have since learned to appreciate the great expanse of opportunities it brings. Throughout my journey of photography I have spent more time focused on birds than any other subjects.
